Armed Robbery Safety Awareness Training

Course Overview

Under Occupational Health and Safety legislation in each of Australia's states and territories, employers have a Duty of Care to provide a place of work that is safe and without risk to health. This Duty of Care extends to taking all reasonable steps to minimise the likelihood of armed robbery and any trauma that results from an armed robbery. Employees have a responsibility to take care of others and to cooperate with their employer with regard to health, safety and welfare requirements.

This module is aimed at increasing awareness of armed robbery and providing specific guidelines on how to appropriately behave before, during and after such an incident. This enhances the safety of people involved and can also reduce the risk of serious trauma or harm caused. Moreover, police investigations can be facilitated by employees making important observations, e.g. of the robbers' characteristics.
