Stress Management
Course Overview
Work-related stress is a growing problem around the world. Increased demands for public services, work intensification, downsizing, outsourcing and globalisation have created pressures that affect the health and wellbeing of employees and the productivity of organisations. The indirect costs to people suffering from work-related stress, and their families and colleagues, make it clear that preventing stress needs to be addressed.
This module has been developed to clarify important issues around the concept of stress, explain how it is caused, what its common symptoms are, and how stress can be managed effectively. Additionally, the course expands the focus by examining the concepts of depression and anxiety, which both can be caused by high and continuous levels of stress.
