Working Safely In Confined Spaces
Course Overview
As confined spaces contain many potential hazards, work in a confined space should always be carefully planned to ensure that the correct precautions are taken. Hazards are often invisible and unable to be detected without specialised equipment. They may not be detected by sight or smell, which is why the area must always be tested prior to entry.
The risks associated with working in a confined space are significant. Ignoring the potential hazards of a confined space may lead to serious injury or even death. The combination of the work area and the work being done will require varying precautions to be taken. OHS laws are very specific about the requirements for this type of work, and work in a confined space must never be performed alone.
This package will highlight many of the potential hazards present in confined spaces and suitable controls of toxic atmospheres.
