Drugs and Alcohol in the Workplace: A Guide for Managers and Supervisors
Course Overview
Alcohol is the most widely used drug in Australia. While there is no single way to address the problem of alcohol and other drugs at the workplace, there are a number of strategies that may be adopted. The hazards and risks associated with the use of alcohol and other drugs at the workplace should be assessed in the same way as any other occupational health and safety hazard.
Risk management strategies will depend on the extent of the alcohol and drug problem, the culture of the workplace and the resources available.
This package is aimed at managers and supervisors who have a responsibility for the management of incidents associated with drugs and alcohol.
