Electrical Safety in the Workplace

Course Overview

Electricity is an invisible danger and the most common cause of death in the workplace. Electrical hazards can exist in every workplace and can lead to electrocution, electric shocks, burns, falls, and also increase the risk of fire. Electricians and engineers who directly work with electricity are aware of the dangers, however, other workers who are indirectly working with electricity every day, also need to be aware of electrical safety.

This course will provide learners with an understanding of the issues associated with electrical safety and will allow them to develop techniques to reduce the risk of accidents and injury while working around electricity.

All organisations in Australia must follow the Occupational Health and Safety laws and regulations set by state governments. Both managers and employees need to follow safety policies and procedures in order to prevent injuries and accidents at work. This course is aimed at staff who need to have a fundamental understanding of electrical safety in the workplace.
