Hand Hazard Awareness

Course Overview

Under Australian legislation, everyone has a duty to ensure that the work environment is safe and free of undue or excessive risk. Not all risk can be eliminated or reduced however, meaning some work environments can still pose a risk to a worker's hands. Given the importance and value of an individual's hands, understanding and being aware of the risks hands can face in the workplace is extremely important.

This course will provide learners with a greater understanding of the work environment and the more common dangers it can pose to a person's hands. It will cover OHS responsibilities, hazard awareness, hand care, proper equipment use, safety procedures, and tips for hand safety with some of the more commonly used work tools. By better understanding the work environment and risks, workers can reduce the likelihood of a hand-related injury from occurring.
