Laser Safety
Course Overview
Lasers can be used in industry and in research laboratories at universities. They can be highly dangerous if used incorrectly so appropriate training is required for any individual who operates lasers in their workplace. Safe working practices must be understood and the risk management process should be carried out according to Australian legislation and standards.
This module is aimed at providing the learner with an in depth knowledge on the safe work practices of using lasers. Common laser hazards are identified and the application of the risk management process is discussed. At the conclusion of this module, the learner should be able to apply general safety practices when using lasers to ensure the health and wellbeing of all individuals.
